Privacy Policy

How we collect, use and protect the personal information you share with us.

Last updated 28 September 2026.

The short version

  • We only collect what a form actually needs.
  • We don’t sell, rent or trade your information, ever.
  • We only send marketing email to people who’ve asked for it.
  • You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, any time — hello@sozou.ai.

What we collect

What we hold depends on how you use the site:

  • Enquiries. Your name, email, phone number and whatever you write, when you use the contact form, the chat assistant, or book a call — plus the time, date and platform you picked.
  • Newsletter. Your email address, only if you subscribe.
  • Comments on research posts: a name, an email address (never shown publicly), and the comment itself. Comments are held for review before they appear.
  • Reading activity. Which articles you’ve read, bookmarked or liked. This lives in your own browser’s local storage, not tied to your name — see Cookies & local storage below.
  • Basic technical detail. A salted, one-way hash of your IP address. It lets us count genuine page views and shares once per day and stop spam and abuse; it is never kept in a form that identifies you, and a like is tied only to a random id kept in your browser, not your name.

Cookies & local storage

We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Your reading history, bookmarks and likes are stored in your browser’s local storage, on your own device — we don’t see any of it unless you also submit a form. Clearing your browser’s site data clears it too.

How we use it

  • To reply to you, and to confirm or remind you about a call you’ve booked.
  • To send you research, only if you’ve subscribed to get it.
  • To understand which articles are useful — in aggregate, anonymously.
  • To keep the site and its forms safe from spam and abuse.

We don’t use it for anything beyond that.

Who else sees it

Only the businesses that help us run this site:

  • Cloudflare hosts the site and the database that stores enquiries, subscribers and comments.
  • Our email provider (Zoho ZeptoMail, or Brevo as a fallback) sends the confirmation you get when you contact us.
  • If you use the chat or voice assistant, your message is passed to the AI providers behind it — speech and language services — solely to generate a reply. They don’t receive your name or contact details unless you gave them in the conversation itself.

None of them may use your information for their own marketing.

Marketing & unsubscribing

We only send marketing email to people who’ve asked for it, through the research newsletter. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, or email hello@sozou.ai and we’ll do it by hand.

Keeping it accurate & secure

Everything is stored with Cloudflare and sent over HTTPS. If anything we hold about you is wrong, out of date, or you’d simply rather we didn’t have it, tell us — hello@sozou.ai — and we’ll fix or delete it.

Access, correction & complaints

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or raise a complaint about how we’ve handled it, at hello@sozou.ai. We’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page if what we do changes, and update the date at the top.
